Yesterday we made a trip to South Jordan to the open house of the Oquirrh (Oak-er) Mountain Utah Temple.

I talked last Sunday about Temples and mentioned that when I left for the mission field (1968) there were 13 operating Temples in the world.

This Temple in South Jordan is the 130th and now there are 13 Temples in Utah !

The Jordan River Temple is 3.5 miles from this Temple and South Jordan is the only city in the world with two Temples.

I was impressed with all the stonework on the staircases and many of the walls along with the wonderful murals and overall color scheme. The exterior granite was imported from China. Interior limestone flooring from Egypt and Morocco. Beautiful oak millwork, decorative painting, gold leaf detail, and original murals.
